SIA weighing several options to soften blow from grounding of 737 Max jets
Airline plans to fill capacity gaps partly by extending leases on aircraft already in its fleet and leasing between 10 and 12 Airbus A320s

SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) is weighing several options to mitigate the potentially "significant" impact of the grounding of Boeing 737 Max jets following two deadly air crashes involving this aircraft type.
"We are working on a number of options which I can't talk about because they obviously involve negotiations," said SIA's senior vice-president of finance Stephen Barnes after the airline's full-year results briefing for the media and analysts on Friday.
