STI slides ahead of US-China trade talks

WITH each passing day leading up to the US-China trade talks, the prospect of a fruitful resolution gets dimmer and dimmer.

If the pessimism wasn't noticeable in Tuesday's Asian trading session, it certainly was on Wednesday.

Singapore's Straits Times Index (STI) started the day 0.4 per cent lower and closed at 3,089.9, a retreat of 20.95 points or 0.7 per cent.
