CHINA'S exports fell dramatically in December while imports contracted as the ongoing trade war with the United States takes its toll on global trade and fuel worries that the world's second-largest economy is slowing more than expected.

China's exports unexpectedly fell last month by 4.4 per cent, its sharpest monthly drop in two years, while imports fell 7.6 per cent as the trade war drags into its seventh month.
