Innovation goal clear, but forum raises question on how to get there
Experts at post-Budget discussion suggest safety nets to spur innovation and push for 'economies of scope'

The shift in focus from productivity to innovation was clear in the latest fiscal Budget, but analysts at a discussion panel on Tuesday wondered whether more could be done to ensure that the workforce is ready for the new economy.
One of the panellists, head of treasury research and strategy at OCBC Selena Ling, said: "You can have all the greatest, most beautiful plans, but it's getting people moving that is the real challenge. ... We may not, I suspect, be really ready when the disruptive change comes."
