Ronny Chieng remains a true blue Singaporean at heart
Ahead of his homecoming shows and Netflix special, the Malaysian-born funnyman talks 'char kway teow' and his "tone issues".
You can take the boy out of Jurong East but you can't take Jurong East out of the boy. Just ask Ronny Chieng.
One of the first things the Singapore-raised comedian, who is now based in New York, does when he disembarks from a plane in Changi Airport is to head straight to the hawker centre.
"I'm not your ACS (Anglo Chinese School) or UWC (United World College) or Singapore American School guy," says the Johor-Bahru-born funnyman who attended Fuchun Primary School, Pioneer Secondary School and Pioneer Junior College here.
