A life Less Ordinary
Artist, writer and former president of AWARE Dana Lam spent the last few years thinking and writing about her life, from the 1950s to the present. She reflected on her relationships, creative processes, and personal journey as a woman, and in the process acquired tender insights into the human condition, the fallibility of love and the power and limitations of art.
Lam has now distilled decades of wisdom into a new stage play titled Still Life. Working with director Claire Wong, Lam transfigured those observations into a two-person play starring herself and veteran performer Jean Ng. Produced by Checkpoint Theatre in collaboration with TheatreWorks, Still Life offers a unique summation of a life fully-lived.
Still Life runs at TheatreWorks, 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road, from Feb 28 to Mar 10. Tickets from Sistic.
