Keppel Golf Day raises S$100,000 for Singapore Cancer Society
KEPPEL’S annual golf tournament returned last Friday (Aug 4) for the first time in three years, with the event at Sentosa Golf Club raising S$100,000 for the Singapore Cancer Society.
The 45th edition of the event, with the theme of “Play for Good”, saw Keppel’s senior management teeing off with tenants of Keppel REIT’s Singapore properties and other business partners.
Keppel – through its philanthropic arm, the Keppel Care Foundation (KCF) – committed to make donations based on each golfer’s score. At the end of the tournament, the players’ scores resulted in a sum of S$17,900. The golfers themselves contributed another S$16,650. In addition, KCF added another donation of S$65,450, taking the total amount to S$100,000.
Singapore Cancer Society chief executive Albert Ching said: “The generous contributions received will significantly aid in sustaining (our) diverse range of services and programmes that cater to the cancer community throughout their entire cancer journey – from cancer control and prevention to patient support services and palliative care.”
