Heart Of Goal
Luxury watch brand Richard Mille has added Didier Drogba to its family of ambassadors. The ex-Chelsea hitman, who also played for Marseille, Shanghai Shenhua and Galatasaray, has been picked not only because he is a goal machine but also because of his commitment to bearing the message of peace through his Foundation Drogba.
The non-profit organisation's initiatives include the construction of a paediatric outpatient centre in Abidjan; a school in partnership with Nestlé in Gagnoa; the creation of an original medial vehicle dedicated to identifying cardiovascular illnesses in Côte-d'Ivoire; support for sustainable agriculture and more.
"Thanks to my career, I've had the opportunity to travel almost everywhere in Africa and what struck me most was the lack of access to health services and education," says the retired Ivorian national. "At the Foundation, our goal is to give people the means to become autonomous, which is a crucial aspect for development in a community."
