Weekend Walkabout
Car-free Sunday is set to be expanded into a full, long weekend format following a successful trial last October.
The first of three such events kicks off today and runs until Sunday with various activities taking place in the Civic District and Telok Ayer Conservation Area. Incidentally, the timing also coincides with the Singapore Heritage Festival, so expect a retro vibe to the events. For example, there will be complimentary trishaw rides in the precinct around Frasers Tower and an old school rock concert.
On Saturday, show up in your school uniform for #ThrowbackSaturday and get discounts on traditional snacks like kachang puteh and muah chee at the Tuckshop @ Empress Lawn. While you are there, check outaan exhibition that tells the story about the development of the city south of the Singapore River.
