THE opening of an 8-hectare extension to the Botanic Gardens - initially scheduled for the end of 2018 - has been pushed back by around 12 months due to construction issues.
The Gallop Road extension, which will feature attractions including an arboretum full of endangered rainforest trees, a hiking trail and galleries, was announced in 2015 and a completion date of late 2018 was set.
