With the establishment of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, a key milestone in the region's economic integration, Asean now offers the opportunities of a US$2.4 trillion market with over 630 million people. As at 2016, the AEC as a collective was the third largest economy in Asia and the sixth largest in the world.
