ONE market that has not lost its shine amid the novel coronavirus outbreak is the data centre market, with analysts saying that data centres have been a popular asset class for some years now.
Since 2015, Synergy Research Group has identified 388 closed data centre merger and acquisition (M&A) deals totalling US$90 billion.
But deals are now on track to reach new highs. As of end-July, Synergy Research counted 63 data centre M&A deals closed this year with an aggregated value of US$19.9 billion. Fifteen of these had an Asia-Pacific (Apac) focus.
