Jumbo promotes executive director Christina Kong to chief operating officer
RESTAURANT operator Jumbo Group : 42R 0% has promoted its executive director Christina Kong to chief operating officer effective Feb 13, the company said in a filing to the Singapore Exchange.
Kong is the sister of Jumbo Group’s chief executive officer Ang Kiam Meng. She is also the sister-in-law of Jacqueline Tan, another one of Jumbo’s executive directors.
The 54-year-old will retain her position as executive director following her promotion. As chief operating officer, she will manage the overall operations of Jumbo Group.
The group’s human resource as well as training and development divisions, which were previously under Kong’s purview, will now be managed by the respective heads of departments.
Kong was Jumbo’s manager of human resources and corporate affairs from 2008 to 2015. She was appointed an executive director for the group in 2015.
Kong also holds some 2.5 million ordinary shares in Jumbo Group as at Feb 12.

The board of directors of Jumbo said they have reviewed and considered Kong’s qualifications and work experience, and have concurred with the recommendations of Jumbo’s nominating committee for the promotion.
Shares of Jumbo fell 1.6 per cent or S$0.005 to end Friday’s trading session at S$0.31.
