Jump in VicPlas' share price prompts another query from SGX
VICPLAS International has been queried by the Singapore Exchange (SGX) for unusual price movements in its shares for the second time this month after the counter rose sharply in trading on Friday.
Shares in VicPlas closed at 59 Singapore cents on Friday, up 19 Singapore cents or nearly 48 per cent from the day before. Some 126.95 million shares changed hands.
This is the second time this month that VicPlas - which manufactures and distributes pipes - has been queried by SGX for trading activity. The last query was on Aug 3, to which it had responded at the time that it was not aware of any possible explanation for the share price movements.
In the latest query around 3.20pm on Friday, SGX asked if VicPlas was aware of any information not previously announced that might explain the spike. It also highlighted that this was the second query and asked for an immediate response.
