INFRASTRUCTURE and civil engineering company OKP Holdings : 5CF 0% said on Wednesday (Nov 9) that it has been awarded a S$100.3 million contract from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) for commuter infrastructure enhancement works at new MRT stations.
OKP’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Or Kim Peow Contractor, will be involved in the design, submission, supervision and construction of covered linkways and cycling paths at new MRT stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line, Circle Line 6 extension, North East Line extension and Downtown Line, the company said in a bourse filing.

The contract commenced on Oct 28 and is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026. The group said its net construction order book amounts to S$402.2 million, with contracts extending up to 2026.
Last September, the company announced that it clinched a contract from PUB worth S$57.2 million for the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System project.
In April last year, shareholders of OKP questioned the company ahead of its annual general meeting whether OKP had been banned or penalised when tendering for government contracts after its involvement in a viaduct collapse in 2017, The Business Times reported previously.

A shareholder had observed that contracts clinched from the public sector were “quite small” following the Pan-Island Expressway viaduct collapse. In its response, the company said that it was not aware of any bans or penalties when tendering for government contracts.
OKP shares closed unchanged at S$0.17 on Wednesday, before the announcement.
