SingFirst party dissolved

SINGAPOREANS First (SingFirst) has been dissolved. The party's chief Tan Jee Say said the decision was made as the party believes a strong opposition would be best achieved with consolidation. He added the party has re-directed several potential SingFirst members to join other opposition parties instead.

Kenneth Jeyaretnam serving 14-day SHN

REFORM Party chief Kenneth Jeyaretnam returned to Singapore on Thursday from the United Kingdom and is now serving a 14-day stay-home notice (SHN). This means he will not be able to physically submit his papers on Nomination Day on June 30, if he intends to take part in the election. He can, however, authorise a representative to submit his papers on his behalf.

PPP chief to contest MacPherson

PEOPLE'S Power Party (PPP) chief Goh Meng Seng intends to contest the single seat ward of MacPherson, putting him on course for a showdown with the incumbent, Tin Pei Ling of the People's Action Party.

Ms Tin, who was successful in a three-cornered fight in the same seat at the 2015 polls, said she welcomed a contest against the veteran politician.
