THE Singapore government may step in to support firms in cases where their potential failure due to the Covid-19 crisis could adversely affect Singapore's national interest, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said on Thursday evening.
"In such instances, we cannot preclude the possibility of government taking some action to ensure these strategic capabilities are preserved," Mr Heng, who is also Finance Minister, told parliament in a speech to round up the debate on his ministerial statement.
