Planning for success

THE ability to plan effectively is key to the success of Nestle's factory in Jurong, the Swiss company's best performer among its eight manufacturing facilities in Singapore and Malaysia.

Made up of four plants, Nestle Jurong Factory is the largest production factory worldwide for Protomalt, a key ingredient in Milo. Its production volume has enjoyed a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 8 per cent since 2000.

The organisation attributes much of its success to the implementation of the Business Excellence (BE) framework, which earned it a 2014 Singapore Quality Award.
