AIRASIA Superapp will partner delivery provider Foodpanda to leverage each other’s strengths and provide a wider range of services for their users in South-east Asia and beyond, according to a joint announcement on Friday (May 12).

Under the partnership, AirAsia Ride – the super app’s ride-hailing service – will be available on the Foodpanda app, starting with a trial in selected areas in Klang Valley, Malaysia.

Foodpanda will be providing food delivery services for AirAsia Superapp by connecting users to Foodpanda’s network of merchants and delivery partners.

“We are laser-focused on fulfilling our travel super-app vision, and we are glad to have found positive synergy with a strong delivery partner as we move on to a dine-in model for our food business,” said Tony Fernandes, chief executive of Capital A, formerly known as AirAsia Group.

The two platforms will also explore further areas of collaboration, such as payment solutions from AirAsia’s BigPay and joint loyalty programmes via AirAsia rewards.

Capital A’s AirAsia Superapp, which offers over 15 lines of products and services, is a travel platform with 51 million users and 40 million downloads, according to the press statement.
