Revamping classic cocktails
Bartender Boo Jing Heng gives his own twist to the classics on which each of Revamp's 10 signature cocktails is based
CRAFT cocktails don't have to be mysterious or intimidating. Revamp on Tanjong Pagar Road serves creative twists on the classics, demystified with clear naming and a dual axis guide for the indecisive. If you're after a light, daytime drink, try the Honey Umeshu Martini; for a rich end to the night, consider the Rum and Raisin Old-Fashioned.
"For me, I always refer to the classics," says bartender Boo Jing Heng. "But you have to make your own twist, your own signature." Apart from reflecting that philosophy of reinventing the classics, the bar's name is literal. The ground-floor space used to house elegant kitchen and bar The Obelisk. Its burnished arched metal ceiling remains - but emblazoned with jokey graphics, since its reopening as Revamp last year.
This February, co-owner Daniel Wong brought bar scene veteran Boo on board. After the "circuit-breaker" ended in June, Revamp returned with fresh cocktail and food menus.
