Can new collaboration models help us build back better together?

New models from social impact investing that are being adapted to Asia can be used to effectively solve complex social problems together.

THERE is a clarion call to solve problems together as a society. In January, Education Minister Lawrence Wong spoke at the IPS Perspectives Conference of the importance of deeper civic participation as we recover from Covid-19. This year's Budget is named 'Emerging Stronger Together', with Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat emphasising strengthening our social compact and forging new partnerships, while maintaining government fiscal prudence.

The question now becomes: how can we solve problems together most effectively?

In my work as an adviser on cross-sector partnerships, I have seen an untapped opportunity to solve problems together in a way that plays to our country's strengths.
