Condo, HDB rental volumes plunge more than 36%
Market watchers cite 'circuit breaker' measures for sharp drop in demand in April, compared to March

DEMAND for renting both non-landed private homes and Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats dropped sharply last month, with market observers saying that this was due to the "circuit breaker" measures implemented in April, which prevented prospective tenants from visiting and viewing properties offered for lease.
Flash data released by real estate portal SRX Property on Wednesday showed that the number of non-landed private homes leased fell by 36.5 per cent, to an estimated 3,068 units in April from 4,829 units in March.
