Identities. Fearful of losing their place in the economic and political world, everyone became anxious that they be recognised, heard and taken notice of. From the White House to the streets of Hong Kong, from the corridors of Royal Palaces to the Gang Clans of Cucuta, Colombia, from the mountaineers on the pinnacle of Everest to the divers in the deepest Coral Reef, knowing others know who we are has become a privacy-threatening event. Democracy has not made good use of this yet. It should do so. The clarion call still to be recognised is adopting and policing a moral standard to avoid exploitation of an ability to communicate we never dreamt we would have.
