In the world of cultural criticism, Roxane Gay is a rock star. She is funny, smart and insightful about the ways music, movies and books shape who we are and how we think. Her books such as Bad Feminist and Difficult Women are global bestsellers, influencing and inspiring many readers. At the Singapore Writers Festival this weekend, Gay will deliver a lecture titled Understanding Identity Through Pop Culture. Expect an hour-long intellectual joyride as she takes you through the different ways pop culture seeps into our psyche, and then gives sassy replies to questions from the audience.

Understanding Identity Through Pop Culture by Roxane Gay runs at the Victoria Theatre on Nov 10 at 11am. Tickets at S$25 from Sistic.
