Emmanuel Stroobant of the two Michelin-starred Saint Pierre restaurant returns to his Belgian roots with his newest restaurant opening KOB, or the Kingdom of Belgians. The casual eatery in Robertson Quay focuses on the national dish of Belgium - moules frites, aka mussels and fries. And beer - all 40 kinds of it. Apart from some Asian accents in the form of laksa and chilli crab mussels, expect classics such as Boulet Liegeois pork and beef meatballs, Sausage and Stoemp classic bratwurst, Fish Goujonette (battered fish sticks) and Croustillon Belgian doughnuts. Vegan meatballs and loaded fries are on the menu to cater to vegetarians. It may not be Michelin star-worthy cuisine, but in the realm of casual bar grub, this Belgian aims to rule.

Kingdom of Belgians is at 8 Rodyk Street, #01-05/06
